Facebook Prepares Took Take Down Gmail!

When Facebook holds events, people take notice and for good reason. Looks like Facebook is preparing to throw its hat in the email ring. Not sure if I would want a “@facebook.com” extension on my email but who knows, I also never though I would leave AOL but progress is progress.
Rumors circling the web is that Facebook is preparing to launch a new web-based email client known as “Titan” which is supposed to compete with Gmail. Not much else is known about this but more news about this will be posted as it becomes available because I have a feeling this may get interesting.
The invite to this new shindig is adorned with some pretty obvious visual hints at mail and messaging, which (along with a few well placed sources) has led TechCrunch to speculate that Zuckerberg and crew are about to unveil their Project Titan email client. Rumored to have been in the works since at least February, this “full-fledged” webmail service — replete with @facebook.com personal addresses — is reportedly referred to as a “Gmail killer” internally.

Whoa, that’s crazy. I can’t wait to see the features that they roll out. I’m curious to see how it actually competes with GMail’s features.
